Bangladesh's bowlers, particularly Hasan Mahmud, initially dominated, reducing India to 144/6 with early dismissals of key batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli.

However, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja mounted a stunning rescue. Ashwin was the star of the day, scoring his sixth Test century (102* off 108 balls) in front of his home crowd. He shared an unbeaten 195-run seventh-wicket partnership with Jadeja, who is still at the crease with 86*. This stand shifted the momentum back to India, frustrating Bangladesh's hopes of wrapping up the innings quickly. 

The match will continue tomorrow with India hoping to build on this partnership, while Bangladesh will aim to break through and limit the damage.
