About Donald Trump 2024
Donald Trump is an American businessman, television personality, and politician who served as the 45th President of the United States from January 20, 2017, to January 20, 2021. Born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York, Trump is the fourth of five children of Frederick C. and Mary MacLeod Trump. He took charge of his family's real estate business in 1971, renaming it The Trump Organization and expanding its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.
Before his presidency, Trump was widely known for his real estate developments, particularly in New York City, as well as for hosting the reality TV show "The Apprentice." He ran for president as a Republican and won the 2016 election against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. His presidency was marked by several significant events and policies, including tax cuts, deregulation, a controversial approach to immigration, and the appointment of three Supreme Court justices.
Trump's time in office also saw two impeachments by the House of Representatives—first in December 2019 on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress related to his dealings with Ukraine, and second in January 2021 on charges of incitement of insurrection following the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. He was acquitted by the Senate both times.
After leaving office, Trump continued to be a prominent figure in the Republican Party and American politics. He has faced various legal and financial challenges, including ongoing investigations into his business practices and personal conduct.
